There is hope Employers become UIF Agents and claim on behalf of staff

Employers - become an Agent of UIF if you are unable to pay non working staff during lockdown.

Send certain forms and payroll information and the UIF Administrators will calculate what to pay your staff, send you a schedule and transfer the funds into your account so that you can disburse the funds to staff.

Send an email to covid19ters@labour.gov.za to get the spreadsheet layout, MOI and details.

(The bank details are for the company's bank account, not the employee bank accounts). Your bank should be able to send electronic confirmation of your bank account as needed for the application. See document link below. Note: only staff that have contributed to UIF will benefit, and this INCLUDES directors, but excludes independent contractors.
